My message to America

Vote for John McCain!

I am not the only British blogger getting involved in this American presidential thing, as you will see on my compatriot's blog.

If McCain wins the nomination, of course I will be hoping he beats the dems. But when there are those with a sounder moral background and voting record, I will support them.

PS, I agree with you on the need for social housing. However, I'd like to see it well-built and given to people who are willing to work, pay fair rent and take pride in their communities. Not workshy dossers.

Hey, nice to see thee.

"PS, I agree with you on the need for social housing."

You liberal!

"Not workshy dossers."

In principle I suppose I agree. But it is very difficult to get an effective process of determing who is a workshy dosser and who is a decent fellow.

McCain is a crummy message to America.

Whatever.

Jonathan, I am puzzled.

Is it your opinion that the Housing Act duty of local government to provide housing to the homeless is wrong?

KB,
I don't like him either. I wish all the primaries were held on the same day - if they were we wouldn't be where we are right now with McCain looming large.

Perhaps not.

But who do you think would win if that were the case?

I thought we got independence in 1783 through the Treaty of Paris, so we wouldn't have the British-approved candidates? =)

Seriously, McCain is pro-gun control, and holds to a number of positions that I find deplorable. He co-sponsors supposed campaign reform legislation violating First Amendment, and is a thinly veiled incumbent insurance program for entrenched politicians/lobbyists in Washington, DC.

I am sure a lot of my countryman like Hillary.
