Angeli Laudantes by Edward Burne Jones
There are several versions of this picture.
The one on the right is a tapestry.
There is a stained glass window based on this picture that I saw at Salisbury cathedral.
An interesting feature of these angels is the flame on their foreheads. The folds of their robes are wonderful.
Notice they have rather solemn expressions. The angels take great joy in their worship of God. That is what they are created to do. However, worshipping God is still a solemn thing. Much of the worship in many churches today (and often the word worship is inappropriate) lacks any sense of solemnity. We must take care that the music we use in worship is reverant and honoring to God.
