Exam Papers

I had about ten bags of religious studies exam papers to mark delivered today. Just like last year, there was one bag containing the wrong papers. I shall have to send that one back.

I cannot mark them until I have attended the standardisation meeting this weekend. The board has to be sure I am going to mark them to the right standard.

Last years examiner meeting was weird. All these teachers and trainee teachers. I did not meet one examiner who was not an Religious Studies teacher. They tended to talk about schools and teaching quite a lot.

It sounds like you are going to be busy! I imagine this is enjoyable for you?

I am sure you will do well with them. I shall pray that the meeting this weekend will not be an unpleasant experience for you.

Rose~, actually marking pappers is pretty boring.

Angie, I am sure it will be alright. It was okay last year. I do not have to travel so far this year, as it is in Birmingham.

Thanks for your prayers, Angie.

Are you checking for Grammar and spelling, or content?

Dyspraxic Fundamentalist said...

Well, the content is the most important thing, but I give them extra marks if their grammar and spelling is good.

God Bless

How am I like a teacher?

With the red pencil correcting papers. Ok, maybe not exactly like a teacher...

Interesting, Sarah.

I like correcting stuff. I am at times asked to do it at work. I correct French and it sort of makes me feel....smart!

You and I both, then, Sarah. I love to edit stuff. I'll take a paper someone wrote and go through detail by detail and point out every possible place to improve the writing.

Matthew, do you talk about schools and teachings a lot yourself personally?

Do you like to mark exam papers? Is it stressful to do so?

I have absolutley no interest in schools or teaching.

Marking exam papers is mostly boring. It can be a little interesting and sometimes funny.
